We Are Moving!
•Apr16:09 • Leave a Comment
Sorry about the lack of posts for the last day or so, but I am moving the site over to my own servers for a number of reasons, mostly because I want to have more control over the site, and would like a better domain name. Stay posted, the move should be complete by the end of the day!
RJD2 teams up with a guy who can’t even walk!
•Apr14:09 • 3 CommentsBut what can he do?
This video, put to the tune of ‘Work it out’ by RJD2, features Bill Shannon, a man who was born with a degenerative hip condition and ended up becoming one of the world’s most creative street dancers. His hip condition forces him to use crutches as his legs cannot support the weight of his body, but through all that adversity he has managed to develop a way to dance and skateboard while still using crutches.

Watch Hulu in Canada (or anywhere in the world)
•Apr13:09 • 1 CommentWritten specifically for @phonetic and @drewhildebrand
The mind-sucking Aliens at Hulu have started their onslaught on the world, but so far the only victims have been those suckers in the States. But what if others of us, (for one) also welcome our new alien overlords? Read on earthlings, and let me teach you how to watch Hulu anywhere in the world (on Mac AND Windows).

Billy Bob cancels remainder of Canadian tour
•Apr10:09 • Leave a CommentThose of you who know me know I am not a huge fan of the CBC. But you shine through here boys, you really do.
Forget Frost/Nixon, check out Billy Bob/Ghomeshi! Billy Bob Thornton and his band The Boxmasters have been (until recently) on tour through Canada, which took them through Toronto. While there, the band agreed to do a radio interview with CBC’s Jian Ghomeshi. The radio show started out quite routinely, with Ghomeshi giving a bio on Thornton, including mentions of his previous, illustrious acting/screenwriting career. This, it seemed, rubbed Thornton the wrong way (why this was such a gross atrocity is still unknown), causing him to become indignant and start answering questions in quite ridiculous ways, coming to a head when he went on to rant about Famous Monster of Filmland when asked about childhood musical influences. He then went on to badmouth Canadian crowds (and Canada in general), causing concert-goers to boo his performance the following day at Massey Hall in Toronto, which led to him cancelling the remainder of his Canadian tour. Good riddance, we didn’t want you anyway. I hope Jian gets an award for being a true Canadian hero.

Downloading MP3s through Seeqpod
•Apr09:09 • 1 CommentIf you’re anything like me, you like to download your music an album at a time, if not entire discographies at a time (in FLAC format of course!). But, as artists increasingly embrace the internet, there are starting to be more and more individual tracks that are released only online, including remixes, etc. One way I can listen to this music is through youtube. Anything and everything seems to be on youtube these days. But what if I want to take it with me on my [iPod/Zune/other PMP]? Enter Seeqpod!
Seeqpod is a service that allows you to look up any music and listen to it online. This is achieved because seeqpod looks for any and every stray .mp3 file on the internet. So great, I can listen to it online. No different than youtube, just no cheesy placeholder image. What’s the big deal?
Well, there’s a way to get direct access to these MP3 files and download them to your computer, let me show you how:
- Go to http://www.seeqpod.com/mobile/iphone.php#_home
- Click search and type in what you’re looking for
- Click the search result that most matches what you’re looking for
- Click File>Save Page as
- Choose a destination for the ‘file’
- Click save
And there you have it, you’ve got the song you were looking for!
NOTE: This only works in Firefox and Opera!
Good luck, please comment and let me know how it works out!
Just Plain (obscure) Dirty Electro
•Apr09:09 • Leave a CommentI don’t know just how obscure you can call this, since it’s a Justice remix, but it’s definitely dirty, and definitely electro
My continuing love for Ratatat
•Apr08:09 • 2 CommentsOne dreary evening about 3-4 years ago I was putting together a promo video for a then-little-known band called Mutemath. I really loved a song off their EP called ‘Reset‘, and would play it over and over again, until my friend @colemcfarlane happened to hear it and said I would really like Ratatat. Ever since that day, although I don’t think he has any idea, I’ve really grown to love the band. Here’s a song from their latest album, LP3, which was released July 2008.
